FPR2308 Principles of Photography

In this course student will be introduced to the principles of photography. It emphasizes camera operation, photographic composition, lighting, portraits, techniques in photography and conceptual understanding of the photographic medium, and basic of digital retouching, etc. Instructors regularly evaluate all work critiques. Students must have access to a Digital SLR camera and all the equipment needed. Students will be given assigned lectures and writings, semester project, will be asked to produce art work and will be asked to participate in class discussion to better understand the physical, conceptual and theoretical characteristics of the photography. Work outside of class will be required.
