In this course student will be introduced to the cinematography. Also student will develop creative skills, techniques and collaborative approaches which will help students to become ready for employment in camera work in today's evolving media industry; the emphasis of the course is about developing key intellectual and practical skills that not only match industry expectations but also challenge current practice, constantly striving to develop new approaches and techniques; this course is aimed at those with some previous experience in camera operation or photography, perhaps from making short films or at undergraduate level; alternatively, students may come from the media industry and wish to develop a skills-base and specialize in this field while undertaking a rigorous and theoretical learning experience in cinematography.

This course explores the many ways in which the cinematographer participates in the collaborative process of translating screenplays into meaningful and stimulating films. Exercises, workshops, master classes and productions, supported by critical and analytical study of the history and development of cinematography, give students a solid foundation in the art and craft of their future career.
